Another MRT jumper hurt at Magallanes station

MANILA, Philippines - A 27-year-old man was injured and rushed to the Makati Medical Center, Wednesday morning after jumping off the platform of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station in Magallanes, Makati.

Makati Police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban identified the victim as Joseph Christian, a resident of San Pedro, Laguna.

Initial reports said that Christian jumped off from platform to the tracks while a north-bound train was approaching the terminal at about 10:17 a.m.

Police said the train did not hit him as it managed to stop just in time. However, Christian injured his left leg from the fall.

The incident halted the MRT's operations for several minutes.
