4 dead in Quezon Provincial Jail shooting

MANILA, Philippines - Four inmates were killed while 10 others were wounded when prisoners at the Quezon Provincial Jail attacked guards, who were transferring some inmates Wednesday morning.

Reports said that the four fatalities were brought to the Quezon Medical Center.

Hurt during the incident were identified as Jason Magpantay, Nelson Escollar, Adolfo de Mesa, Enrique Ramos, Jose Gonzales, Rommel Falcon, Alberto Perez, Francis Kabutihan, Michael Ancajo, and Ronald Abordo.

Initial reports said that jail guards were transferring some inmates around 10 a.m. when prisoners, armed with improvised weapons, attacked them. The jail guards fired at the inmates in defense.
