3 hurt in NLEX mishap - report

MANILA, Philippines - Three persons were hurt on Monday after a delivery van blew one of its tires while speeding along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Pampanga.

A radio report, quoting Garry Lorenzo of the NLEX traffic control room, said the delivery van was cruising along the northbound of the Candaba Bridge in San Simon town when one of its rear tires suddenly blew.

The driver of the van, loaded with ready-to-wear goods, lost control of the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to tilt and fell on its side, the report said.

The unnamed driver and two of his companions were slightly injured during the mishap, which caused a traffic snarl in the area, the report added.
