MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City government has advised motorists and commuters to take alternative routes on Tuesday morning since some roads will be closed for the visit of United States President Barack Obama.
In an advisory posted on its Twitter account, the Taguig city government said the following roads will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. to 12 noon:
- Fort Bonifacio Gate 3 and the entire stretch of Lawton Avenue, both lanes
- Stretch of McKinley Parkway from 5th Ave. - 28th St. in BGC, both lanes
- Upper McKinley Road from C5 Service Rd to Lawton Ave., both lanes
- Entire stretch of Bayani Rd. from C5 to Lawton Ave., both lanes
- No right turn from McKinley Road to Lawton Ave
The city government said those going from Pasong Tamo to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) can take the East Service Road going to C5 Road and then to McKinley.
Motorists can take the U-turn slot at the Kalayaan Flyover to C5 then turn right at Upper McKinley.
Those coming from EDSA Ayala to the BGC can take McKinley Road and turn left at 5th Ave., BGC.
The city government said those with inquiries may call the Taguig City polices station at (02) 642-3582 and 0908-3770085.
According to the US Embassy in Manila, Obama will be delivering a speech before American troops at the Philippine Army Gym in Fort Bonifacio at 10:15 a.m.
He will also participate n a wreath laying ceremony at the Manila American Cemetery at 11:05 a.m.
Obama will leave the Philippines at 12:05 p.m.
