Fire hits 'surplus' stalls in Port Area

MANILA, Philippines - A fire broke out at the shops selling second-hand appliances from Japan at Port Area, Manila.

According to Senior Fire officer 3 Emmanuel Gaspar, about 80 stalls were affected by the fire, damaging an estimated P300,000 worth of properties.

The fire broke out at about 11:30 a.m. and reached the third alarm.

The fire was declared under control at 12:19 p.m.

Gaspar said the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
