2 brothers nabbed for cocaine
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Authorities arrested two brothers for alleged possession of cocaine believed to be part of the eight missing cocaine bricks, in a separate drug bust operation in this city Wednesday night.
First to be arrested by agents of the Davao City police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was Guillermo Badilla, 44, said Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao Jr., city police director.
Danao said Badilla, who was nabbed along Bunawan Highway, was caught in possession of two plastic sachets allegedly containing cocaine powder believed part of the missing drugs.
An hour later, Badilla’s brother Roldan, 28, was also arrested in another drug operation also along Bunawan Highway.
Danao said the Badilla brothers have repacked the brick of cocaine into sachets.
He said seven more bricks remained missing to this day.
Last week, authorities found 56 bricks of high-grade cocaine stashed in a container van inside the Sumifru Wharf in Barangay Tibungco.
