4 farmers held for harassing engineer

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Four members of Alyansang Magbubukid sa Asyenda Luisita (AMBALA) were arrested after they allegedly harassed an engineer and her group inside the Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac City Thursday.

Farmer Leoncio Suarez, 53; Jaime Quiambao, 54; George Gatus, 57, and Charlito Catalan, 68, were held after they allegedly threatened to harm Frances Figueroa and her companions who were working on a DAR-covered property of the hacienda in Barangay Mapalasciao, said  Senior Superintendent  Alex Sintin, Tarlac police director.

The farmers were taken to the Tarlac police office in Camp Francisco Macabulos, Tarlac City as proper charges were being readied against them.
