3 held for Masbate village chief’s slay

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Police have arrested three suspects while a barangay councilman is being hunted for last Sunday’s killing of a village chief and his mother and the wounding of his wife and daughter in their house in Masbate City Sunday night.

Chief Superintendent Victor Deona, Bicol police director, said the suspects, identified as Francisco Tumambac Sr., a farmer supervisor at the Masbate City agriculture office; his son Francisco Jr., and relative Otic Tumambac, were nabbed during a hot pursuit operation in Barangay Biyod, Masbate City.

A manhunt is ongoing for Barangay Biyong councilman Fernando Tumambac.

They were tagged in the killing of Barangay Igang chairman Allan Marcos, 35, and his mother Puruta, 60. Marcos’ wife Analyn and daughter Alily were wounded in the attack. – Celso Amo, Cet Dematera, Francis Elevado
