NGCP builds covered court in Pangasinan school

MANILA, Philippines - Students of LaclacChayao Elementary School and residents of Barangay San Roque in San Manuel, Pangasinan are set to enjoy the benefits of a multi-purpose covered court turned over by National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) recently.

Constructed within the grounds of LaclacChayao Elementary School, the covered court is part of NGCP’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program for 2014, which aims to build and improve public school facilities such as classrooms, restrooms, and covered courts.

“NGCP’s CSR initiatives give major consideration to the needs of our host communities, especially those in remote places. The addition of a multi-purpose covered court will not only benefit the student-residents but also the entire community, including nearby sitios. Provision of these basic facilities and infrastructure is NGCP’s way of thanking our partner communities for protecting our transmission lines and facilities,” said NGCP corporate affairs department head Nelson Cabangon.

Sitio Laclac in San Roque, San Manuel town hosts the Binga-San Manuel 230-kiloVolt transmission line, one of NGCP’s major transmission backbones in north Luzon.
