Potential storm closer to Surigao del Sur - PAGASA
MANILA, Philippines - The low pressure area (LPA) affecting Visayas and Mindanao has been spotted near Surigao del Sur, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Thursday.
PAGASA said in its weather bulletin that the LPA that entered the country on Wednesday was last located at 270 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur.
The weather bureau said the potential tropical depression will continue to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms in Eastern and Central Visayas and Mindanao.
Western Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated light rains.
PAGASA said moderate to strong winds from the east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the northeast to northwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
