SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – Yet another bomb threat disrupted operations at the regional trial courts here yesterday morning, including Branch 42 that is hearing the estafa case of Globe Asiatique president Delfin Lee.
Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde, Pampanga police director, said lawyer Joy Balleta of the clerk of court’s office got a text message from an unknown sender on the bomb threat at around 11 a.m. yesterday.
The message read: “Na tsek nyo na ba mga kahon (have you checked the boxes) delivery Jomafer boom.†Jomafer is the name of the building where the courts occupy the second and third floors.
Police immediately responded to the threat, but ordnance experts found no explosive after combing the entire building where RTC Branches 41 to 48 are located.
Last March 7, a similar bomb threat rattled court personnel in the same building after Lee was arrested in Manila.
Lee remains locked up in the provincial jail some two kilometers from the Jomafer building.
