MANILA, Philippines - A 25-year-old woman yielded 200 grams of dried marijuana leaves and 50 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride during a buy bust operation in Parañaque City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Wednesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspected drug pusher as Juvine Bayonado, a house helper, of No. 74 Paina Street, Veterans Village, Project 7, Quezon City.
Last Mar. 10, operatives of PDEA Regional Office 4A arrested Bayonado after she sold shabu weighing approximately 50 grams placed inside a plastic sachet and 200 grams of dried marijuana leaves wrapped in a transparent plastic to an undercover PDEA agent who posed as buyer.
The buy-bust operation took place along Bradco Avenue, near membership shopping center S&R Aseana-Baclaran Branch, Baclaran, Parañaque.
Authorities also seized from the suspect the P500 marked bill used as buy-bust money during the operation.
Seized pieces of drug evidence were brought to the PDEA RO 4A laboratory for forensic examination.
Bayonado is now temporarily detained at the PDEA RO 4A jail facility, facing a case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
