Delfin Lee's convoy on its way to Court of Appeals - report
MANILA, Philippines - A convoy carrying property developer Delfin Lee on Wednesday morning left Pampanga and was on its way to the Court of Appeals in Manila for a hearing of his petition of writ of habeas corpus.
Reports said Lee, believed to be on board a white sports utility vehicle, will be presented before the appellate court around 10 a.m. for the proceedings to contest the legality of the arrest warrant against him.
Lee's convoy left the Pampanga Provincial Jail a past 6 a.m., reports added.
Lee, president of Globe Asiatique, is facing syndicated estafa charges for allegedly defrauding the Pag-IBIG Fund of P6.6 billion through a housing scam in Pampanga.
Lee was arrested by authorities in Ermita, Manila last Thursday.
