2 children, 2 others killed in Malabon fire

MANILA, Philippines - Two children and two more persons were killed in a fire that razed a residential area in Malabon City, early Wednesday.

Authorities identified the fatalities asTomas Mateo Cruz and a certain Mylene. The two children, aged 4 and 10, have yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, three more persons were reported missing after the fire broke out at around 4 a.m. along Espiritu Street in Barangay Tenejeros.

Firefighters managed to put the flames under control at around 5:30 a.m.

The blaze destroyed more than 100 houses, displacing more than 200 families.

Firefighters estimated the fire's damage at P1 million.
