2 hurt as Cessna plane crash lands in Nueva Ecija

MANILA, Philippines - Two pilots were hurt after a small trainer plane crashed into a nipa hut in Nueva Ecija Thursday morning.

Radio reports said that pilot Paul Pafultad, 30; and his Myanmar co-pilot Wen Hiet, 21; sustained injuries after their Cessna plane hit a nipa hut when it crash landed in Barangay Poblacion in Rizal town around  around 7 a.m.

There were no people inside the hut during the incident.

Reports said that the aircraft left Binalonan airport when it crash landed in the area.

Police said that according to the residents, the plane was flying very low over their village when it crashed.

Police investigators suspected that the plane experienced technical problems as residents saw it flying low, reports added. - Dennis Carcamo
