Zambo mayor: Noy ordered police chief to solve judge's killing

ZAMBOANGA CITY - President Benigno Aquino III has directly ordered the city's chief of police to solve the murder of trial court Judge Reynerio Estacio, City Mayor Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said Monday.

Salazar said the President has also ordered other law enforcement agencies to work together to solve the murder of the judge.

“There was this directive no less than from the President for the city police director to respond to the killing of Judge Estacio,” Salazar told newsmen during a press briefing at the city hall.

Estacio and his wife had just left their home in Barangay Tugbungan when two unidentified gunmen shot and killed the judge.

Police investigators suspect that the murder was related to a high-profile case being handled by Estacio.

City police director Senior Superintendent Angelito Casimiro had said that their investigators have already came up with composite sketch of the judge's attackers.

The suspects' sketch, however, have yet to be released to the public.

Casimiro said that the local police, with the help of National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) and other law enforcement agencies, have launched a manhunt against the suspects.
