125 passed special bar exams for Shari'ah Courts
MANILA, Philippines - A total of 125 or 46.82 percent out of the 267 examinees passed this year’s Special Bar Examinations for the Shari’ah Courts, the Supreme Court said on Monday.
The High Court, through the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC), said that the top 10 passers are: Pandi, Edna P. (90.3 percent); Sinsuat, Indira I. (87.8 percent); Bin Usman, Imam Luqman L. (86.65 percent); Maulana, Princess Joy M. (86.55 percent); Tagtagan, Shahani Muhaymin B. (86.2 percent); Kabalu, Hajar U. (86.15 percent); Lacoto, Norjanna T. (85.8 percemt); Mabang, Eshan Karl O. (85.75 percent); Ali, Mohaimen U. (85.45 percent); and Sultan, Abdelghani C. (85.3 percent).
Deputy Clerk of Court and Bar Confidant Ma. Cristina Layusa said the oath-taking ceremony of the successful candidates will be held at 2 p.m. on Mar. 11 at the Session Hall of the New SC Building in Faura, Manila.
The successful examinees are required to secure their clearance from the OBC from today, Feb. 24, until Mar. 10.
The passers who were conditionally admitted to take the examinations are also required to complete their remaining requirements. They are also required to pay P1,000 for the oath-taking fee and P100 for the Certificate of Admission.
The Shari’ah Bar exams were held on Jan. 19 and Jan. 26 at the Court of Appeals, Maria Orosa Street, Manila.

Melchor Rey Sadain, Procedure in Shari’ah Courts; Judge Samsodin Mustapha, Jurisprudence and Customary Laws; and Judge Montano Kalimpo, Succession, Wills/Adjudication and Settlement of Estate.
