2 girls drown in P’sinan river

URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan, Philippines – Two girls drowned while swimming in a river here on Friday afternoon, police reported yesterday.

Ciara Agosta, 11, and Frecy Santos, 14, both students of the Urdaneta Central School, were carried away by the current as they were swimming along with five other girls at Macalong River in Barangay Pinmaludpod.

Agosta was rescued 15 minutes after the incident , and was rushed to the Divine Mercy Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Santos has yet to be found as of press time, said Superintendent  Jeff Fanged, city police chief.
