Cop stabbed dead, dumped

BUTUAN CITY , Philippines   â€“ A police officer was found dead with four stabbed wounds in the chest in the town of Kitcharao in Agusan del Norte Saturday night.

Police Officer 1 Adener Paña was reportedly killed by four unidentified men who dumped his body along the highway in Barangay San Isidro, according to Senior Police Officer 1 Bienvenido Albano, deputy chief of the town police.

Albano said Paña was driving a motorcycle on his way to the municipal police station when the suspects waylaid him.

The local police are eyeing illegal drugs and gambling as motive for the killing.
