Girl,11, raped in funeral parlor

STA. ROSA, Nueva Ecija, Philippines – An 11-year-old girl was reportedly sexually abused inside a funeral parlor in this city on Friday and was placed in a coffin to apparently hide the crime.

Police arrested a certain Joe, 58, funeral parlor caretaker, following a complaint filed by the family of the victim, said Chief Inspector Louie Dionglay, city police station commander.

Dionglay said Joe reportedly invited the victim for lunch inside the funeral parlor in Barangay Burgos. However, the suspect reportedly raped the girl and placed her in a coffin.

A resident heard the girl’s scream, helped her escape and brought her to the barangay hall where they reported the incident.
