1 killed, 3 hurt in CamSur blast

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines - – A former government militiaman was killed and three others were wounded when an M203 fragmentation grenade exploded yesterday morning when one of the victims accidentally dropped it during their drinking spree in Bato, Camarines Sur, authorities said.

Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said the blast killed Efren Bagasala, 20, a former CAFGU member, and wounded John Paul Paran, Rommel Manuel Rumaraog, and Elissa Joyce Sabirola.

Police said Bagasala went home and returned with the grenade but dropped it while showing it off to his drinking mates, triggering the blast.
