Antipolo security guard shot over missing salary

Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - An argument over a missing P3,000 salary triggered a shooting incident between two security guards in Antipolo City yesterday.

Cesar Parientes, 57, of the Golden Hope Security Agency, was hit in the right leg and was rushed to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center.

His attacker, Paulo Postigo, 30, gave himself up after the incident.

Police said both Parientes and Postigo were posted at the J and L building along the Marcos Highway in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo.

Postigo questioned Parientes why he did not hand over his P3,000 salary. A heated argument ensued, until Postigo pulled out his service firearm and shot Parientes.

Postigo surrendered to Jun Rarangol, 54, an administrative aide at the city’s public safety and security office.

Police recovered a .38-caliber revolver, four live bullets and a spent shell at the crime scene.
