Sari-sari store owner from Muntinlupa collects P155M lotto prize
MANILA, Philippines - A 26-year old man who owns a sari-sari store in Muntinlupa City on Thursday collected from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) the P155.4 million prize from the Grand Lotto 6/55 drawn Monday.
PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said the lucky bettor placed the winning 02- 03- 08- 19- 32- 38 combination with a P60 bet at a Muntinlupa lotto terminal.
Rojas said the winner has been playing lotto for the past four years and has been placing bets using his father's age and birthdate.
According to Rojas, the new millionaire plans to buy a house and expand his store into a grocery.
"Kami po ay nagagalak na nakubra na ang ating Grand Prize jackpot winner ang 6/55 jackpot amount na P155.4-M. Kaya't tuloy-tuloy po tayo sa pag tangkilik sa produkto ng PCSO. Sa bawat piso na inaalay ninyo sa amin, marami po tayong natutulungan mula Luzon, Visayas Mindanao. Nakatulong na kayo, Nanalo pa kayo," Rojas said in a statement.
The PCSO said the Grand Lotto 6/55 started on November 16, 2013 with a minimum guaranteed amount of P30 million.
The last Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot prize was P148 million and was won by a soldier from Mindanao who bought the ticket while shopping for pasalubong at the Divisoria Market, the PCSO said.
