LPA near Davao City dissipates

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The low pressure area (LPA) near Davao City has dissipated, the state weather bureau said before noon Wednesday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Admnistration (PAGASA), however, said Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will continue to experience isolated raishowers and thunderstorms.

The LPA was estimated at 640 kilometers northeast of Davao City.

The weather bureau, meanwhile, said strong to gale force northeasterly surface wind flow associated with the surge of the northeast monsoon is still expected to affect the seaboards of Luzon and Eastern Visayas.

"Small seacrafts and fishing vessels are advised not to venture out into the sea due to big waves generated by this weather system," PAGASA said.
