2 killed in Quezon ambush

CANDELARIA, Quezon , Philippines  â€“ An employee of the municipal government and a laborer were killed in an ambush by unidentified gunmen in this town Saturday night.

Jonathan Rivera and Elmer Bastida were on their way home on a motorcycle when they were ambushed at about 7 p.m. in Barangay Masin, according to Chief Inspector Eduard Mallo, town police chief.

Rivera died at the scene due to multiple gunshots to the head and body, while Elmer was brought to the Peter Paul Hospital in this town where he died while being treated.
