BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – The city's signature chill may go on until summer, a local state weather forecaster said Tuesday.
Danny Galati, weatherman at the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said the Baguio City chill may continue until March because of the tail end of the cold front in Luzon.
The city's signature chill usually end in February.
So far, Baguio's lowest temperature this year was recorded on Sunday at 9.6 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, the temperature on the highland enclave was 11.6 degrees Celcius and 11 degrees Celcius on Tuesday.
PAGASA weathermen said the temperature in the city will drop back to 11 degrees Celcius on Wednesday and down to 10 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday.
The bone-tingling chill started as early as October this year, instead of November.
The lowest temperature recorded in Baguio City was 6.3 degrees Celcius in January 8, 1961.
