Drug suspect killed in shootout

DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines – A suspected drug pusher who was said to be behind the series of robbery incidents in this city was killed in an alleged shootout with lawmen on Rizal street Friday.

Arjie Pimentel, alias Tano, was about to be arrested by a police undercover agent when he reportedly pulled out a gun, according to Superintendent Christopher Abrahano, city police chief.

Abrahano said Pimentel reportedly sold a sachet of shabu to the undercover agent.

A witness told police the suspect was involved in a robbery with homicide incident that left an old woman dead in this city last month. He said no charges however were filed against the suspect. 

Meanwhile, Abrahano said authorities arrested four persons caught holding a pot session in a subdivision in this city on Friday. He identified the suspects as Violeta Laganzo, 70; her daughter Maria Edna Feliciano, 31; Marcial Soriano , 40, and Rommel Visperas.
