.45-caliber stray bullet killed toddler

Raymund Catindig - The Philippine Star

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – The stray bullet that killed two-year-old Rhanz Angelo Corpuz in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte on New Year’s Eve came from a .45-caliber pistol, police said yesterday.

“So far, the examination has determined the kind of firearm used. However, there are no results yet on the trajectory and cross-matches of all .45-caliber pistols of gun owners in San Nicolas,” said Senior Superintendent Gerardo Ratuita, Ilocos Norte police director.

The slain toddler will be laid to rest today at the San Nicolas public cemetery.

Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos earlier had urged the police to speed up its investigation on the boy’s death.
