Cavite road mishap leaves 2 students dead

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines  â€“ Two students were killed when they were run over by a passenger jeepney in  GMA town, Cavite yesterday morning.

Verlyn Timbal, 14, and her cousin Steelyn Timbal, 5, were declared dead on arrival at the Carsigma district hospital, according to Senior Inspector Leo Angelo Ilacer, town police chief.

Driver Ryan de Dios, 31, was arrested after the accident. Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide was filed against him before the provincial prosecutors’ office.

De Dios reportedly lost control of the wheel and hit the victims, who were on their way to school in Barangay Poblacion at about 9 a.m.
