Batangas fire kills 2 children

The Philippine Star

BATANGAS, Philippines – Two siblings aged three and four were killed in a fire that gutted their house in Lipa City yesterday morning, police said.

Senior Superintendent Omega Jireh Fidel, Batangas police director, identified the fatalities as Prince John Dimailig, four, and his three-year-old sister Jessa Angelica.

The fire struck the children’s home in Barangay Balintawak at around 7 a.m. and was put under control an hour later.

Firemen found the charred bodies of the two children in an embrace in their room.

Senior Inspector Von Nicasio, Lipa fire marshal, said the children were left alone in the house as their parents went to work.       – With Ed Amoroso
