DAR surpasses land distribution target in Agusan

Rhodina Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently distributed close to 900 hectares of agricultural land to 491 farmers in Jabonga, Agusan del Sur this year.

DAR said the awarding brought to 13,541 hectares the distributed farmland in the Caraga region, surpassing its target of 11,088 hectares.

DAR-Caraga director Faisar Mambuay led the distribution of the certificate of land ownership awards (CLOAs) covering packets of landholdings in Barangays Bangonay, Libas and Cuyago.

“The government also implements various support services to ensure economic improvement in the farming sector. These services come in the form of credit assistance, crop insurance and trainings,” Mambuay said.

Jabonga Vice Mayor Glicerio Monton said DAR’s continued implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program in his municipality is a big help in uplifting the lives of his constituents, particularly the farmers.
