1 killed, 7 hurt in Batangas road mishap

MANILA, Philippines - One was killed while seven others were injured after a car rammed into another vehicle in Batangas Sunday night. 

A radio report said that Edgar Castillo, 41, died while being treated in a hospital. 

Meanwhile, injured were Castillo's wife, Belinda; their daughter Danica Bianca;  Marlorence Pangilinan, driver of the Toyota Innova that Castillo hit; Lucila, Pangilinan's wife and their three children, the report added. 

The report said Castillo's car was violently swerving while speeding along Star Tollway in San Jose, Batangas when it rammed into the Toyota Innova of the Pangilinans. 

It added that authorities suspect that Castillo might have slept while driving which caused the accident.
