Police seize 84 kilos of shabu in Batangas raid

MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the anti-narcotics unit of the Philippine National Police on Wednesday arrested three persons during a raid on a ranch in Batangas, seizing some 84 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

Members of the PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force nabbed Gary Tan, Argay Argenos, and Rochelle Argenos during the serving of a search warrant at LPL Ranch , Brgy. Inosloban, Lipa City, Batangas around 8:30 a.m., PNP public information office chief Reuben Theodore Sindac said.

Sindac said that besides illegal drugs, authorities  recovered a cal .45 with a magazine and 10 live ammunition and a 12-gauge Winchester rifle with four live ammunition.

The suspects were brought to AIDSOTF national headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City for investigation and proper disposition while the evidence recovered will be  submitted to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Laboratory Service for examination. - Dennis Carcamo
