Gunmen of Maguindanao treasurer identified

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines   â€“ Investigators have identified the gunmen behind the attempt to kill the treasurer of this province on Dec. 13 in Guindulungan town.

Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu said the police are readying the documents needed for the filing of charges against the attackers of Osmeña Bandila.

Mangudadatu declined to reveal the suspects’ identities, pending the filing of criminal charges.

Bandila and his two police escorts were wounded in the attack that happened in Barangay Macasampen. They were on their way to the provincial satellite office in Buluan town when the gunmen waylaid them.

Although wounded, Bandila’s escorts managed to return fire preventing the gunmen from getting near them.
