4.3-magnitude quake hits Boracay

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-4.3 earthquake struck Boracay Island and nearby areas on Friday afternoon.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake's epicenter was traced at 34 kilometers northeast of San Jose de Buenavista in Antique province.

The quake, which has a depth of one kilometers and tectonic in origin, struck at 12:48 p.m.

It was felt at Intensity 3 in Tibiao, Culasi, San Jose in Antique and Caticlan. It was felt at Intensity 2 in Boracay Island.
