Fake drugs seized in Batangas raid

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines  â€“ Authorities confiscated boxes of fake medicine bearing the label of the United Laboratory Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Unilab) in a raid on two drugstores in the town of Lemery in Batangas on Friday.

The raid that resulted in the seizure of P150,000 worth of fake medicine, stemmed from a complaint filed by Unilab before the Calabarzon police office, said Superintendent Ronaldo Mendoza, chief of the regional investigation division 4A.

Mendoza said Edwin Guevarra, owner of JM &Ivan Pharmacy, and Chit Concepcion of Themiese Drugstore, were taken in for questioning.
