KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines - The Kidapawan City government has allocated P12.2 million for the Christmas bonus of its rank-and-file personnel, Mayor Joseph Evangelista announced on Saturday.

Evangelista, whose office has ministerial control over hundreds of employees of different departments in the city government, said the Sangguniang Panglunsod approved last Wednesday the release of the much-awaited benefit next week.

Each of the more than 600 casual and regular employees of the city hall will receive P18,000 cash, according to Evangelista.

Each of the 119 teachers paid by the city government’s Special Education Fund (SEF) will receive P5,000 cash, while the 565 job order employees will get a P2,000 worth gift certificate per person.

The city’s SEF workers, barangay nutrition scholars, barangay health workers, animal workers, and day care workers will receive a P2,000 worth gift certificate each.

The mayor said a P1,500 worth gift certificate will be distributed to each of the barangay tanods in the city.

Evangelista said government doctors assigned at the Kidapawan City Hospital will also receive bonuses from the city government.

The bonus payout is scheduled on Dec. 20, five days before Christmas day.
