Negros jail warden sacked
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – The jail warden of the Negros Occidental District Jail (NODJ) in Barangay Tabunan in Bago City was relieved while six jail guards were reshuffled following a jailbreak last week.
BJMP-Western Visayas regional director Senior Superintendent Ignacio Panti said NODJ acting warden Superintendent Hilbert Flor’s relief was in view of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s one-strike policy.
Police said Charlie Duran, 25, a resident of Barangay Makasilao Calatrava town and Jimmy Sablan, 35, of Barangay Robles La Castellana town were recaptured in La Castellana last Saturday. The detainees are being held at the Bacolod City District Jail-Male Dormitory, while documents for their transfer are being processed.
