Swede found dead in Olongapo hotel

Ding Cervantes - The Philippine Star

ANGELES CITY, Philippines - – A Swedish man was found dead inside his hotel room at a beach in Olongapo City on Tuesday.

Vesaju Lkunen, 52, was found by his compatriot Las Palsson, 52, with a nebulizer mask on his face, according to Olongapo police chief Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Recomono Jr.

Lkunen was staying at the Viking beach house while Palsson was billeted at the Baloy Long Beach Resort.

Palsson said he, Lkunen and two other Swedes went bar hopping the night before.

He said he went to Lkunen’s room the next day to remind him of the 1 p.m. checkout time.

Palsson said Lkunen did not respond to his knocks, so he asked the resort staff to open the door.

Recomono said investigators found no foul play in Lkunen’s death.
