DepEd resets exams for school heads

Ghio Ong, Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Education (DepEd) has moved its qualifying exam for aspiring school principals next year to give examinees from areas devastated by the magnitude-7.2 earthquake and Super Typhoon Yolanda more time to prepare.

The National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH), which is being administered by the DepEd’s National Educators Academy of the Philippines, was moved from Dec. 8 to Jan. 12.

“The exam has been reset to give many applicants sufficient time to cope with the succession of natural calamities especially those in the Visayas who suffered from a powerful earthquake and Super Typhoon Yolanda,” DepEd said in a statement.

Inquiries may be directed to Antonio Ordovez of the NEAP at (02) 635-4796.
