3 dead, 3 hurt in Negros mishap

BACOLOD City , Philippines   â€“ Three people were killed while three others were injured when a mini-bus collided with a car in Barangay Mandalagan in this city at dawn yesterday.

Christian Gabana, 28, the driver of Nissan Sentra, and his companion Ma. Regine dela Peña died on the spot, while their friend Jackie Jimenez was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), according to Senior Inspector Benedicto Villarias of the city traffic management unit.

Villarias said the car reportedly tried to overtake another vehicle when it slammed into the Cebro mini-bus.

Bus driver Jerry Serrano, 39; his assistant Andy Lucidino and passenger Jason Adol, 23, were taken to the CLMMRH for treatment of injuries.
