Bulacan town exec shot dead

 MALOLOS CITY , Philippines  â€“ An official of the municipal government of Norzagaray, Bulacan was shot dead outside a church in Barangay Poblacion on Sunday.

Yolanda Ervas, the town’s budget officer, and her husband, Irineo, were about to attend mass at the San Andres Parish Church when an unidentified gunman shot her four times, according to Senior Superintendent Joel Orduna, provincial police director.

Ervas was declared dead on arrival at the Norzagaray Municipal Hospital.

Orduna said investigators have yet to determine the motive for the killing although they expressed the belief that it was work-related.

Witnesses told probers that prior to the killing, Irineo was seen arguing with a man. The victim got out of their vehicle, apparently to pacify her husband, but another man shot her.
