Before and after: Satellite images of areas devastated by 'Yolanda'
MANILA, Philippines - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) has released satellite images of some areas ravaged by Super Typhoon "Yolanda," which is considered as one of the most powerful tropical cyclones recorded in history.
The images, which show portions of towns "almost completely eradicated" by the typhoon, were released by the website of the UNITAR.
An analyst of UNITAR's Operational Satellite Applications Programme was quoted as saying on the website that the image she was processing looked "very much like a tsunami."
