3rd suspect in San Fernando holdup shot dead

Ding Cervantes - The Philippine Star

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – A third suspect in last Tuesday’s holdup of a businesswoman here was shot dead yesterday by policemen pursuing the case.

Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde, provincial police director, said his team was pursuing five suspects who were able to escape after their two accomplices were killed in a firefight with police after they held up a businesswoman in Barangay Del Pilar last Tuesday, when it encountered one of them in Barangay Quebiawan.

The law enforcers spotted the third suspect, identified only as Peter, at the old railway station in Sitio San Miguel, Barangay Quebiawan. This led to a chase and the fatal shooting of the suspect, Albayalde said.

Members of the special operations team from the regional police headquarters at Camp Olivas found a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson without a serial number, four bullets and one fired cartridge inside the pistol near the slain suspect’s body.

The suspect’s remains were brought to the Peter Pan Funeral Homes in Barangay Bulaon here.

The slain suspect was believed among seven men who held up the businesswoman and her companions in Barangay Del Pilar while they were onboard an Elf truck on their way to Pangasinan to buy fruits and vegetables.

Two of the suspects were shot dead in a clash with police. One of the two was identified as Ramil Bondoc, 22, a resident of Barangay Sto. Cristo, Mexico town, based on a Land Transportation Office permit found in his wallet.
