Basilan fireman dies of cardiac arrest

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A fireman died of cardiac arrest while he and his colleagues were rushing to contain a fire that razed 18 houses and 15 business establishments in downtown Isabela City in Basilan yesterday, authorities said.

Superintendent Albert Larubis, city police chief, said Rolando Lim, a volunteer of the UECI Fire Brigade, collapsed while tagging a fire hose. He was rushed to the Infante Hospital in Isabela City where he died while being treated.
