COA hails Zambo school
MANILA, Philippines - Government auditors yesterday commended the officials of the Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga City for the school’s academic accomplishment last year, particularly in the field of criminology.
The Commission on Audit (COA) hailed the school’s College of Criminal Justice Education, which bagged the “Special Award for School/Academe Category†in the Criminology Awards given by the Philippine National Police.
The award recognized WMSU’s for producing criminology graduates who perform well in police recruitment examination and in training programs.
The COA said the university performed well in other licensure examinations and produced topnotchers who ranked fifth in the forester, ninth in nutrition and dietetics, seventh and ninth in nursing, and fifth in the geodetic engineer licensure examinations.
State auditors said graduates of non-formal courses of the Department of Extension Services and Community Development such as baking, cooking and food processing, plumbing and practical electricity, have a 100 percent passing rate in the National Certificate II exam administered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
