Vi fails to vote, apologizes to Batangueños
BATANGAS , Philippines – Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto apologized to her constituents yesterday for failing to vote due to a dental problem.
In a phone interview, Recto told The STAR that she had to see her dentist yesterday morning for a tooth surgery.
“I’m asking for an apology if I couldn’t vote, though it’s my obligation. I’m having this tooth infection for two weeks now. It bothers me so much that I need to undergo the procedure at the soonest possible time,†Recto said in a text message.
Recto’s swollen cheek and difficulty in speaking were evident since last week as she attended to speaking engagements and meetings at the capitol.
Her husband, Sen. Ralph Recto, cast his vote at the Inosluban Elementary School in Barangay Inosluban, Lipa City
