BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – This province’s vegetable-rich mountain town of Kayapa has been placed under a state of calamity due to continued rains, which have heavily damaged its major crops.
The heavy rainfall, according to the Kayapa municipal council, has also triggered a series of landslides along the national highway, isolating the town from the rest of northern Luzon.
The mountain highway leading to Kayapa links this landlocked province in Cagayan Valley and Benguet in the Cordillera region.
