Abra village chief gunned down

Bangued, Abra, Philippines - – A village chief in this capital town was shot dead Monday night allegedly by a constituent who had invited him to his house supposedly to talk about something.

The victim, Raymund Bustamante Evangelista, 42, chairman of Barangay Sinapangan, and one Melchor Yves Sibayan were on their way to the house of a certain Berto Belisario when they were shot with a .45-caliber pistol.

Evangelista died on the spot, while Sibayan was unhurt.
