Ecija cop shot dead

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga , Philippines   â€“  A police officer was shot dead after he tried to stop a group of men from making too much noise at a bar in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija Sunday.

Police Officer 1 Mario Tabigne, 29, of the Aliaga police station, reportedly told the men who were drinking in the Yuppies’ Dem Bar in Barangay Concepcion to lower their voices as they were disturbing other customers, according to provincial police director Senior Superintendent Crisado Nieves.

One of the men reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Tabigne in the head. 

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Nueva Ecija Doctors Hospital. Police have yet to identify and arrest Tabigne’s killer.
